WP4 Strategy Workshop – Polytechnic University of Cartagena, June 16 – 17, 2026
On 16–17 June 2026, the BIOMEDIX consortium met at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), Spain, for the WP4 Strategy Workshop dedicated to the development and implementation of the BIOMEDIX eMetaverse platform for digital education in biomedical applications. Representatives from all consortium partners, together with industry partners Materialise and ViscoTec, participated in discussions on the platform architecture, educational objectives, technical requirements, sustainability, and integration of digital learning resources.
The workshop established a shared vision for the BIOMEDIX eMetaverse as a browser-accessible, modular, and collaborative learning environment supporting biomedical engineering education through virtual collaboration spaces, XR learning experiences, biomedical CAD resources, mentoring, and international cooperation. Partners also agreed on the initial implementation roadmap and key actions leading to the BIOMEDIX Summer School in Riga and the start of platform development activities.
