Staff Training Event on Bioprinting and Additive Manufacturing Technologies at ViscoTec – 21-23 April 2026
A three-day BIOMEDIX staff training session was held at ViscoTec Pumpen- u. Dosiertechnik GmbH in Germany, bringing together researchers, professors, and industry representatives from partner institutions, including Riga Technical University, Poznan University of Technology, Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, and University of Niš, with additional remote participation from Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena and University of Pula.
The programme focused on bioprinting and additive manufacturing of liquid and paste-like materials, combining theoretical sessions, live laboratory demonstrations, and a strategy workshop dedicated to the development of BIOMEDIX case studies and the e-toolkit. Participants explored real biomedical applications, including silicone implant fabrication and advanced material processing techniques.
The training concluded with participation in the Additive Manufacturing Experience Day 2026, where attendees gained insights into industrial applications of fluid-based 3D printing through expert presentations, live demonstrations, and facility tours.
The event provided valuable practical knowledge, strengthened collaboration between academia and industry, and supported the further development of innovative biomedical solutions within the BIOMEDIX consortium.
